I adopted Marlin back in April of 2018 after months of searching for the perfect dog to keep me company since I worked from home.  I decided I wanted a border collie, or labrador retriever due to their friendly disposition and high intellect.

Marlin was rescued along with his siblings from West Virginia and transferred up to Michigan.  He was 12 weeks when I adopted him, and absolutely precious.  I started training him right away on the cool tricks; high five, sit, and road trip.  "Road Trip" is when I buckle him in the car, and before I take off, I say "Road Trip!" and we high five.  He did that while he was a puppy but soon grew out of it.

Marlin is a bit of a Divo.  He is very intelligent, friendly, yet dramatic and quite the demanding one.  He is a doggy of habit, an early riser who expects breakfast promptly at 6:30am on his snufflemat, with hugs and kisses.  He may or may not eat his breakfast, however he does not miss dinner and will remind any late human that it is 6pm and dinner must be served immediately.  We cook his food from scratch every few weeks and freeze portions.  I believe that our doggy best friends should eat the same quality food as we do, and made with the same care and love that we would do for our own human family and friends.

Marlin is quite the gentle dog, although he barks alot at the mailman, and other dogs walking down the street.  In person, he loves to give dog hugs to people, and is very well mannered in public.  This is why I have made him the Good Dog Ambassador.  Aside from being a super sweet and intelligent dog, he is also an emotional support animal, and behaves very well on public transportation.  He enjoys playing ball, hide and seek, swimming, hiking, and mentally stimulating activities.

You can email Marlin at marlin@theardenthabitat.com - please keep in mind that he is a very funny dog, although a bit overdramatic at times.  We love him very much!

You can find many of his pictures and adventures under the hashtag #marlinmossthedog and I hope you enjoy them as much as we have being with him on these crazy outings.
